St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU, St. Louis' NPR station located in Grand Center, is seeking a dynamic, strategic thinking full-time Chief Broadcast Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include leading our organization technologically, from maintaining a state of the art broadcast facility, two transmitter sites and studio facilities, to helping us plan and grow for the future. This position will oversee the IT department and IT Specialist, and work closely with programming and operations department to maintain proper operation including studio infrastructure, internet streaming hardware, broadcast-network IT systems, radio automation, etc.
The Chief Engineer is expected to be available 24/7, in the case of station emergencies that require his/her technical expertise, and is to stay up-to-date on the latest information and rulings issued by the FCC to ensure compliance.
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Prefer a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, telecommunications technology, IT, or related field; at least 2 years of broadcast engineering. Prefer the successful candidate have the following certifications: Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Certificate of Broadcast Radio Engineering (CBRE) and Certificate of Broadcast Network Technology (CBNT).
