Facility Rentals

In June of 2012 UMSL opened the new UMSL at Grand Center building which currently houses St. Louis Public Radio as well as state of the art facilities available for rental.

Community and Conference Rooms

The Community Room is 1,512 square feet of beautiful meeting, performance, and dining space. It has floor to ceiling windows that open accordian-style onto the patio area. The north end of the room has a 28-foot built-in projection screen and LCD projector. The room also has a built-in sound system.

Capacities according to setup:
Standing: 120
Theater: 100 - 120
Conference Room: 50
Banquet Rounds: 72 - 80 (8 chairs per table)

Cost: $300 per hour, two-hour minimum + $50 each additional hour
Special setup arrangements are also available.

The Front Lobby is a beautiful space for intimate cocktail receptions. It has floor to ceiling windows on the south and west walls.

Capacities according to setup:
Standing: 30
Seated: 10 - 15

Cost: $75 per hour , two-hour minimum + $25 each additional hour

The second-floor Board Room is the perfect corporate meeting space. The west end of the room has an 80-inch LCD flat-screen television and a LCD projector. Phone lines are also available. It has floor to ceiling windows.

Capacities:
Seated: 20 - 25

Cost: $100 per hour , two-hour minimum + $50 each additional hour

The second and third floor Conference Rooms are perfect intimate meeting spaces. Both rooms have LCD flat screen televisions (second floor 60 inch and third floor 70 inch), a LCD projector and a whiteboard. Phone lines are also available. Booth rooms have floor to ceiling windows.

Seated: 10 - 15

Cost: $75 per hour , two-hour minimum + $25 each additional hour

The second-floor Classroom is the perfect informal meeting space. The room has an 8-foot built-in projector screen, a LCD projector and a whiteboard. Phone lines are also available.

Capacities:
Seated: 30 - 35

Cost: $100 per hour , two-hour minimum + $50 each additional hour

The Plaza Patio is the perfect outdoor gathering space for cocktails or informal get-togethers.

Capacities according to setup style:
Standing: 20 - 25
Seated: 10 - 15

Cost: $125 per hour , two-hour minimum + $50 each additional hour
Non-profit organizations will receive a 10% discount upon receipt of a tax exempt letter.

Parking

Off-Street Parking
Scottish Rite Garage: The rate is $1.50 per hour for the first 3 hours. If your stay exceeds three hours you are then assessed a flat fee of $6.00 for the entire day.

Garage closing time:
On nights with Fox Theatre performances, 10 p.m.
On nights without Fox Theater performances, 7 p.m.

On-Street Parking
Metered parking available

Rental Guidelines

Audio-Visual
The following is available for rental use:

  • Three cordless microphones for $30 per hour
  • Projector screen for $55 an hour without sound, or $85 with sound.
  • Laptop computer connection available
  • *WiFi is not available in the facility.

Reserving Your Date
To reserve your date complete and return a UMSL at Grand Center Facility/Services Request form along with a $50 nonrefundable application fee (which is applied to rental fee). Reservations must be made a minimum of six weeks prior to the reception date. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a University of Missouri-St. Louis Facilities and Services Agreement, a campus map, and a floor plan. (If the signed agreement and payment are not received by the date specified, the reservation will be canceled.)

Payment
Payment of fees associated with room rental, i.e. audio-visual, insurance, and special setup is due upon return of the signed agreement. Checks should be made payable to UM-St. Louis. Major credit cards (except American Express) are accepted as well as MoCode. Partial payment will be considered for events scheduled a year or more in advance. A credit card number is required to cover charges.

Cancellations
Events canceled after the deposit/payment has been paid and more than 90 days from the event will be refunded half the amount of the deposit/payment minus the cost of insurance, if applicable. No refund pertaining to room fees and services will be given for cancellations less than 90 days prior to the date of the event.

Catering
Payment for catering is separate from the room rental. NOTE: Alcohol is allowed on the premises however, in accordance with city and state ordinances and the University Of Missouri St. Louis all alcohol, whether purchased of donated must be handled and served by someone with a liquor license.

Event Liability Insurance
The University requires that you carry event liability insurance. You may purchase insurance from your own carrier or through the University. If you choose to provide your own insurance we will need a certificate of insurance from your carrier.

Proper Care and Use of Facilities
It is expected that proper care will be taken of UMSL at Grand Center facilities. Please inform your guests that:

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the building.
  • Food and beverages are to remain in designated areas.
  • Guests must restrict their activities and movement to the areas in the building specified in the agreement.
  • After your event, personal belongings should be removed and trash placed in the receptacles provided.
  • No lighted candle may be passed from one person to another.
  • Candles may be used in candelabras provided drip shields or other protective measures are used.
  • Taping items to walls or hanging items from the ceiling is not permitted.

Deliveries
You are responsible for receiving deliveries and should have someone present when deliveries are expected. University staff will not accept or be responsible for deliveries. Because storage space is limited; we cannot store equipment or materials for you. You are responsible for rented items and must make arrangements for pickup by vendors immediately following the reception.

Security
You may work with UMSL at Grand Center to hire private security for your event. Keep in mind that as at any public facility, you and your guests should not leave personal items unattended. The University takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Animals in the Building
Only guide and support animals are allowed in the building.
