St. Louis Public Radio teamed up with Sauce Magazine to host a cupcake showdown. Four local cupcakeries offered guests samples of their best treats, and guests voted on their favorites.


Java Jived
Java Jived: Singin' in the Sink

Java Jived performed chart-topping tunes from Duke Ellington, The Beatles and more. Java Jived is a unique, homegrown, mixed vocal octet that specializes in performing a cappella arrangements of jazz and pop classics from the 1920's to the 1980's. Known for its fine blend and intonation, this high-energy ensemble performs polished stylistic renditions of challenging repertoire by the best contemporary arrangers.


A Discussion on the Normandy School Collaborative

St. Louis and St. Louis Public Radio partnered to host an interactive discussion that focused on the changes that have occurred within the Normandy School District over the past year.


A Night of Mostly Clean Comedy 2

Local comedians Tom Shelton, Josh Arnold and Matt Conty provided two hours of stand-up comedy.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory Singers performed music from Dido, the first opera written by English composer Henry Purcell.


Fabric: A Celebration of Textile and a Look at the Future
of Fashion in St. Louis

St. Louis Public Radio helped kick off the beginning of St. Louis Fashion Week with complimentary beer and wine, a panel discussion--Fashion in St. Louis: The Art of Handmade and its Future, a special video presentation by Beth Thenhaus and Caitlin Franz, plus a cocktail reception and fashion presentation featuring handmade textiles from Q Liu and Skif International.

Chocolate Uncorked: Pairing Local Chocolates with Regional Wines

Guests learned about the latest chocolates and met area chocolatiers
from Bissinger's, Kakao, RJ Chocolatiers, and VC Chocolate Bar, plus sampled fine, local chocolates paired with wines from Augusta and Montelle wineries.

Salt of the Earth, an original Roots and Americana music group, performed on Saturday, October 19 in the Community Room at UMSL at Grand Center.


Sauce Magazine contributor and STL Hops beer blogger Eric Hildebrandt moderated a panel discussion with brew masters from Schlafly, Perennial, Urban Chestnut, Four Hands, Six Row, Ferguson and Civil Life on Wednesday, September 25 in the Community Room at UMSL Grand Center. Craft beer samples were provided by all seven St. Louis microbreweries and light hors d'oeuvres were provided by Nadoz Bakery and Cafe.

The Grand Theater Crawl performed on Friday July 5, 2013 in the Community Room at UMSL at Grand Center.
