Jazz Unlimited
Dennis Owsley has been hosting a weekly radio show on St. Louis Public Radio since 1983. He has been a jazz album collector, aficionado, and historian since 1958 and has seen most of the major artists in jazz in live performance.
Owsley wrote an award-winning book, City of Gabriels—The Jazz History of St. Louis 1895-1973.
Nearly all the music heard on Jazz Unlimited is from Owsley's personal collection. He is gaining an international reputation as a photographer of jazz musicians as well.
Jazz Unlimited won the Riverfront Times' Best of St. Louis Award in the "Best Jazz Show" category six out of the past seven years.

Jazz Unlimited is a unique weekly radio show covering the continuum of jazz from Louis Armstrong to Lester Bowie. Each show is scripted and is based on a theme to provide the broadest coverage of the music.

January 29: Giants of Jazz for February and March (Three Hours)
Jazz Giants are those musicians whose individuality makes them instantly recognizable by their sound. This Sunday, we play the music of some of the Jazz Giants for January and February. These musicians will include Buddy DeFranco, Dexter Gordon, Milt Jackson, David Murray and Henry Threadgill, among others.

February 5: The Compositions of Eric Dolphy (Three Hours)
Reed player Eric Dolphy's short career produced a number of interesting compositions that will be played by groups and musicians like Potsa Lotsa, Donald Harrison, Terence Blanchard, Jay Hoggard and others.
February 12: Jazz Artists of History: Major Birthdays

February 19: The NEA Jazz Masters (Three Hours)
Since 1982, The National Endowment for the Arts has given "NEA Jazz Master" awards to over 100 American citizens. Ramsey Lewis, Bobby Hutcherson, Hubert Laws, David Liebman, Johnny Mandel, Barry Harris, Cedar Walton and the entire Marsalis Family will be featured.
February 26: Keys and Strings Hour (First Hour)
The quieter side of jazz will feature Herbie Nichols, Myra Melford, Elmo Hope and Bertha Hope.
