July 2019 - June 2020 Impact Report

Essential Service

Portrait of Tom Livingston

This has been a defining year for our community. From a pandemic and a pivotal election to widespread calls for racial justice, we’ve been covering it all, and you have been with us every step of the way—listening and supporting. Thank you.

Your crucial support has empowered St. Louis Public Radio to do some incredible things this year, in unprecedented circumstances. We purchased special equipment to keep our intrepid reporters safe in the field, from face coverings and boom mics to gas masks and flak jackets. We had the flexibility to cancel our spring fundraising events to focus our airwaves on breaking news and essential COVID-19 coverage. When our broadcast antenna in Rolla was damaged by lightning, we replaced it to restore our service to rural Missouri.

STLPR is resilient. We’ve overcome challenge after challenge because supporters like you have stepped up to help us meet each one. Thanks to our members, we remain hopeful and dedicated to bringing you the trusted news you expect from STLPR.

Tom Livingston, Interim General Manager
