Part-Time Copy Editor
Application Deadline: Friday, March 15, 2019
St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU (STLPR), an NPR member station, is seeking two (2) part-time copy editors. Our digital content is just as important as our on-air content and we want to make sure it is as clean, accurate and relevant as possible.
We are looking for copy editors to help STLPR maintain our high standards. This position requires someone who is a stickler for detail and whose knowledge of grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation is impeccable. We are searching for copy editors who look at the forest and the trees -- who can spot inconsistencies in a story as well as problems within each sentence. Did we mention AP style? You must love staying on top of AP style conventions and help us maintain an internal style guide.
We are also looking for someone who can:
- Organize, juggle and prioritize tasks;
- Understand community standards and apply them to our stories;
- Help reporters and editors make their copy shine.
We need someone who works approximately four to six hours a day. While there are occasions when we will require the copy editor to be on site, this person can work remotely. We are a journalism organization, so expect irregular hours.
St. Louis Public Radio is a service of the University of Missouri - St. Louis. In order to be considered for this position, you must visit UMSL's employment site and complete an online application. Job ID: 29325.
